Chickpeas with Swiss chard are an ideal dish to include in a healthy and balanced diet. The recipe comes from the Mediterranean, just like its ingredients. Chickpeas are not the most common legumes in Cuba, but on the island several dishes that came to us from Spanish cuisine are eaten, and this is one of them: delicious, very nutritious and simple to make.

Method

  1. Soak the chickpeas from the night before.
  2. Change the water and soften the chickpeas in the pressure cooker for about 40 minutes. Check that they are soft, drain them and set them aside.
  3. Wash and drain the Swiss chard. Cut it into thin strips and then make several crosswise cuts so that the strips do not become too long and get stuck in the mouth.
