Sweet potato is also known as batata, moniato, camote or papa dulce, among other names. In Cuba we eat it as a side dish very frequently, and of all the recipes we can make with it, fried sweet potato takes first place in admirers.

The sweet potato is a plant from tropical and subtropical regions. There are different varieties, such as yellow, white and red, which owes its name to the color of the skin. The flesh of the latter ranges from white to intense yellow; it is one of the sweetest varieties and is used in the cuisine of many Latin American, European and even Asian countries.
