Leftover cooking has wonderful recipes, and this is one of them. In Cuba, this sweet is often made because heat sometimes plays tricks on milk. And needless to say, a liter of milk, even if it's curdled, can't be thrown away!

Method

  1. Mix the milk and sugar well.
  2. Add the yolks and the juice of half a lime.
  3. When everything is well combined, pass it through a strainer.
  4. Add the vanilla, salt, cinnamon stick and grated zest of half a lime.
  5. Let the mixture rest for half an hour.
  6. Bring to high heat until it comes to a boil.
  7. Lower the flame to medium heat and stir occasionally.
  8. When the sweet is golden and the syrup has reached its point, it is ready.
