Method

Prepare the oranges

  1. Wash the oranges and cut them in half.
  2. Using a juicer, extract the juice carefully without breaking the peel, as it will serve as the container for the custard.
  3. With a spoon, remove any remaining pulp from inside the peels to leave them clean. Set the peels aside.

Prepare the juice

  1. Strain the juice to remove any remaining pulp.
  2. Add the sugar to the strained juice (for every 4 cups of juice, use 1 cup of sugar). Mix well and set aside.
  3. Take a small amount of the juice and dissolve the 4 heaping tablespoons of cornstarch in it. Mix well until no lumps remain.

Cook the custard

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the juice over high heat until it begins to boil.
  2. When boiling, add the cornstarch and juice mixture and stir constantly until thickened.
