Creamy rice is a preparation that comes from European cuisine. In Cuba it is not one of the most common ways to prepare rice, although many families do make it at home.

Ingredients

Method

  1. In a casserole dish that can go into the oven, heat the butter.
  2. Add the onion and cook until it takes on a translucent color.
  3. Add the rice and mix well so that the ingredients are integrated.
  4. Incorporate part of the stock and the garlic. Increase the heat slightly and let it cook covered until the rice begins to absorb the stock.
  5. Add more stock and stir. Repeat this operation approximately every 5 minutes.
  6. Before the rice grain opens, place the casserole in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 °F (about 175 °C).
  7. Remove the rice from the oven and add the red pepper cut into thin strips, the Parmesan cheese and the finely chopped parsley.
  8. Stir, add a little more stock and let it rest covered using only the residual heat; there is no need to put it back on the fire. Enjoy!
